Getting started

This section contains resources that will help you find your way and get started with Tempo Folio.

1. Grasp the Basic Concepts

Make sure you get familiar with the Basic Concepts before digging into Tempo Folio's pages. This will help you better understand the purpose of Tempo Folio and the terms used throughout its pages. Be sure to watch the Getting Started video tutorial demonstrates the main features of Tempo Folio:

2. Access Tempo Folio

The following conditions must be met before you can access Tempo Folio:

  • JIRA and Tempo Folio need to be properly installed and licensed before you can access Tempo Folio's pages.
  • You must be logged in with a user who can browse at least one project.
  • You must be logged in with a user who has the permission to use Tempo Folio. By default, all users have this permission, but it can be attributed on a JIRA user group basis by a JIRA administrator.

Once these conditions are met, access Folio through the Tempo menu located in JIRA's top bar. Click the Tempo menu and click the more... menu item under Portfolios or Folios sections to go to the Manage Portfolios page and start creating Folios. Alternatively, hit keys g, then f to go to Tempo Folio.

3. Create a Sample Project

You should then create a Sample Project in order to experiment with all the features and get a feel of what it is like to use Tempo Folio in a realistic project that is underway.
